High Temperature Fastening Solutions

Your Cheapest Fastener isYour Most Expensive Problem

A cheap exhaust fastener is the most expensive part in any high-temp system. Extreme heat softens standard fasteners, melts the locking mechanisms, and loosens the joint a little more each cycle. Until eventually, it fails.

The right spec costs more per fastener, but less per everything else.

Identify why your fasteners are failing under heat, cycling, and vibration and what to do about it.

The Conditions Standard Fasteners Weren't Built For

Inside every exhaust joint, several factors work together to cause a standard fastener to fail.

Thermal Cycling

Thermal Cycling

Each heat cycle loosens the joint a little more. Standard fasteners sacrifice clamp load until they eventually fail.

Thermal Expansion

Thermal Expansion

Dissimilar materials expand at different rates. Every heat cycle works against the joint.

Vibration Loosening

Vibration Loosening

Vibration puts every fastener under constant stress. When thermal cycling has already compromised the joint, vibration makes failure inevitable.

Material Degradation

Material Degradation

Extreme heat breaks down what fasteners depend on. Nylon softens, adhesives fail, and the joint follows.

The Fix is in the Material

A286 stainless steel, Inconel™ 718, and Nimonic™ 80A can withstand temperatures up to 800°C, depending on the alloy. Pair them with our improved Lockthread technology to resist loosening through mechanical interference. There's no nylon to melt, no adhesive to break down, and no expensive failure hiding in your exhaust.

The right spec means the right performance, every cycle.

The ROI of the Right Fastener

Better materials, mechanical locking, and engineering support add up to a total cost that's much lower than the alternative.

What Your Fasteners Should Be Made of

Not every exhaust application needs the same alloy. A286 stainless steel covers most automotive exhaust and turbo work up to 700°C. Inconel™ 718 is built for extreme strength and fatigue demands in high-load engines. Nimonic™ 80A is for the hottest environments, around 800°C.

A286 for automotive exhaust and turbo. Inconel™ 718 for high-load, high-cycle engines. Nimonic™ 80A for extreme heat. But the right spec starts with a conversation between our engineers and yours.

A Lock Engineered for Exhausts

Lockthread technology doesn't rely on nylon, adhesive, or anything that degrades under heat. It locks mechanically through interference at the minor diameter, a wedge angle that resists loosening under tension, and a trilobular cross-section to keep friction consistent across the joint.

Lockthread technology is engineered to resist loosening under tension, maintain friction consistency, and perform reliably across the full thermal range of exhaust applications.

Engineer-to-Engineer Support

We engineer the entire part to your applications. If there's a problem, we figure out why, whether it's the fastener or something else. That's why we measure relationships in years, not purchase orders.

Trusted by World-Leading OEMs

The world's largest automotive and heavy equipment manufacturers spec our fasteners. Not because someone told them to. Because they've tested them, validated them, and trust the team behind them.

All-American Manufacturing

U.S.-sourced material from Carpenter Technology. Engineering support close enough to travel to your plant. Minimal tariff risk, no overseas lead times, and no gap between your problem and our response.

High Heat. High Stakes. High Performance.

Where Standard Fasteners Don't Cut it

Automotive Exhaust Systems

Turbocharger mounting. Exhaust manifolds. Catalytic converter assemblies. These joints endure intense heat, high pressure, and constant thermal cycling demanding fasteners that seal reliably and hold up to today's strictest emissions requirements.

The Solution:

A286 stainless steel studs and fasteners engineered to maintain strength up to 700°C. Anti-galling coatings for clean installation and consistent torque-tension.

Industrial and Heavy Equipment

Agricultural engines run sustained high-load cycles. Construction equipment operates under extreme vibration. These are bigger engines with bigger turbos, higher pressures, and forces that demand more from every component in the exhaust system.

The Solution:

Inconel™ 718 studs and fasteners for applications where strength and fatigue resistance matter as much as heat. Backed by engineer-to-engineer support on demand.
